It’s always nice to celebrate the good stuff that happens, so I just wanted to let you know about two recent victories on the social justice front. On 31 Oct, we delivered a letter to the Treasury demanding that a VAT loophole was closed. 750 activists emailed George Osborne to support this action. A week later, Government has done so, claiming these measures will save £100 million. Find out more here. We’ve also heard that Westminster City Council have totally scrapped their plans to make it illegal to feed homeless people on the streets. We campaigned on this back in February.
On behalf of my colleagues and our partners on these issues, to all those who contributed through prayer or by taking direct action – a massive thank you!
