Ruth’s “Turn it up” challenge

Ruth has decided to do the tearfund “Turn it up” challenge. Here are the what? Why? and How? in Ruth’s own words.tearfund

Turn it up is a Tearfund challenge that I’m doing for 7 days where I live on 10litres of water a day including for drinking, washing, cleaning etc, i only get 3 full outfits, and 1 set of crockery. It’s a real challenge but it’s all to raise awareness of the fact that 1/3 of the world don’t have a safe toilet to use, 900million people don’t have safe water to drink and 5000 children die everyday because of a lack of water and sanitation. It’s something I’m passionate about ending as it is a serious form of injustice.
2 of my friends, Sam  and Pete are doing it, and youth groups all over the country have been doing it through Tearfund Youth. I learnt about the challenge initially thruogh the Fresh course I’m on run by Tearfund and Emerging Culture, which is a youth leadership course specifically aimed to develop passions in fighting injustice. So loads of people on that course have done it or will do it.
I’m going to raise about £300 through sponsors so far.
