Vine fm update

Just a brief outline of what is happening at Vine FM, following our Easter broadcasts we have formed a management team and currently we are writing a business plan to register Vine FM as a non profit making company. Having successfully registered we would then be seeking charitable status and with this new status we should be able to attract some government funding for a local Christian Community radio station.

On the afternoon of Sunday 13th June in conjunction with Hilltop radio based in Earl Shilton we ran a three hour pilot programme mainly for us to familiarise ourselves with their equipment and internet broadcasting. Even though this wasn’t advertised through our churches we attracted 293 listeners their highest figures for the week with the previous Sunday attracting only 86 listeners.

Following a Vine FM management meeting it was agreed that from Sunday 26th September Vine FM in conjunction with Hilltop radio will be broadcasting every Sunday afternoon, the times have yet to be finalised but we are hoping to have a five hour radio slot probably from 2pm – 7pm

Other plans include an Internet Christmas broadcast and Easter 2011, our long term objective is that Vine FM becomes Hinckley’s own full time Community Christian radio station.

What we need now are those who can support us by becoming involved in either the actual broadcasting or behind the scenes technical operations. If you would like to become involved please contact us them via the Bridge contact page.
