Over 2 million people in the UK and 11 million worldwide have now attended an Alpha course. It is an opportunity to explore the meaning of life, running in tens of thousands of churches of all denominations across the world.
Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions, with a day or weekend away.

In Autumn 2010, The Bridge will be running an Alpha course at Praha Bar and Restaurant in the centre of Hinckley. Alpha will take place on Wednesday evenings with guests invited to arrive at 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start and the evening finishing at approx. 9-9.15pm. The course begins on Wednesday September 15th and finishes on Wednesday November 24th.
On the first evening complimentary food will be served at 7.45pm followed by a brief talk and then time for people to discuss issues raised and share their own views in small groups with other guests. On following evenings food will not be served, but guests are welcome to make use of Praha’s wide variety of hot and cold beverages and snacks from the bar.
This year Alpha will be led by the Bridge’s senior leader Tim Lea and new associate leader David Fletcher. Both Tim and David are passionate, yet down-to-earth Christians with a wide variety of complementary real life experiences and an enthusiasm for helping ordinary people to discover God in the midst of everyday life in modern society.
The address for Praha Bar and Restaurant is: PRAHA, 22-24 The Borough, Hinckley LE10 1NL
If you would like more information about this year’s Alpha course and/or you would like to invite a friend or participate yourself then, please, feel free to contact David Fletcher by email at : david.fletcher@thebridgeonline.co.uk

There is an interesting debate at the moment about the sort of questions and discussions people are interested in when they talk with followers of Jesus. It seems they do not want explore the big questions of life but would rather ask “how do I live life?”
Go and have a read.
What do you think?
Research has shown that Methodists live, on average, seven years longer than the rest of the population.
Why do you think that might be?
Football players all over the world will have dreamt about getting to play in a team that reaches the world cup final. Sadly that dream has ended for all players apart from those in the two teams left to play tonight’s final. Their dreams will have been shattered.
